FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Choosing the right hitting instruction matters—especially for players serious about long-term development and real game performance. This FAQ addresses common questions about fit, readiness, process, and expectations so players and parents can make informed decisions about whether CEO Hitting is the right next step.
What types of players does CEO Hitting work with?
CEO Hitting works with competitive youth players, high school hitters, college players, and professionals. Fit is based on readiness rather than age. Players should be capable of receiving instruction, applying feedback independently, and taking responsibility for their development.
Is CEO Hitting a good fit for beginners?
CEO Hitting is best suited for players who already have basic playing experience and are ready for higher-level instruction. Absolute beginners often benefit more from foundational exposure first. CEO Hitting focuses on clarity, consistency, and skills that translate to real competition.
How is CEO Hitting different from traditional hitting lessons?
Traditional lessons often emphasize drills, positions, or mechanical checkpoints. CEO Hitting LESSONS are principle-based and focuses on understanding. Players learn how timing, decision-making, and emotional control influence performance so they can make adjustments during games—not rely on constant instruction.
Do you teach a specific swing model?
No. CEO Hitting does not teach a single swing model. Instruction is built around core principles that allow each hitter’s swing to adapt to their body, timing profile, and competitive environment while remaining efficient and adjustable.
Will this approach help performance in games?
Yes. CEO Hitting is designed specifically to translate to competition. Sessions emphasize timing, decision-making, and composure under pressure so improvements show up in games—not just in practice or cage work.
How long does it take to see improvement?
Every player is different. Some experience immediate clarity, while others improve gradually as understanding deepens. Long-term progress depends on readiness, effort, and the ability to apply instruction between sessions.
Do you use video analysis?
Yes. Video analysis is used as a tool for clarity—not overload. It helps players understand what their swing is doing and why, and it is always paired with practical, actionable instruction.
Can CEO Hitting help with timing and pitch recognition?
Yes. Timing and decision-making are central to the CEO Hitting framework. Players learn how to manage speed, recognize pitch differences, and stay adjustable without rushing or guessing.
Does CEO Hitting address confidence?
Yes. Confidence improves when hitters understand their swing and trust their preparation. CEO Hitting integrates emotional control alongside physical skill because confidence often breaks down when clarity disappears.
Who leads CEO Hitting lessons?
CEO Hitting instruction is built on the system and methodology developed by Mike Bard. Depending on the service and location, lessons may be led directly by Mike or delivered by trained coaches applying CEO Hitting principles in person. All offerings follow the same development framework.
Why does CEO Hitting list multiple locations?
CEO Hitting offers in-person instruction in select locations and remote support nationwide. Availability depends on the coach and service. All lessons—regardless of location—are aligned with the same principles, language, and standards.
What is Hank Bard’s role within CEO Hitting?
Hank Bard is an Assistant Coach and Catching Coach at McLennan Community College and provides in-person hitting and catching lessons in the Waco area using CEO Hitting’s methodology. His work represents a local application of the CEO Hitting system, not a separate training approach.
Do you offer remote or online coaching?
Yes. CEO Hitting works with players nationwide through remote swing analysis and consulting. This allows players to receive high-level instruction even if in-person sessions are not available.
Do you work with teams and programs?
Yes. CEO Hitting partners with teams and programs to improve offensive consistency, align coaching language, and establish shared development standards. Team and program consults are customized to the needs of coaches and players.
Is CEO Hitting suitable for players pursuing college recruiting?
Yes. Many high school players work with CEO Hitting as they prepare for recruiting. The focus is on building a swing and mindset that translate to higher levels rather than chasing short-term results.
Do you guarantee results?
No coach can guarantee outcomes in a competitive sport. CEO Hitting provides honest evaluation, clear priorities, and high-level instruction. Progress ultimately depends on the player’s effort, consistency, and commitment.
How often should players take lessons?
Lesson frequency varies based on goals, schedule, and the player’s ability to apply feedback. Some players benefit from regular sessions, while others use lessons periodically for evaluation and course correction.
Should parents attend lessons?
Parents are welcome to observe, especially for younger players. Instruction, however, is directed to the player to encourage ownership, accountability, and independent thinking.
Is CEO Hitting a good fit for everyone?
CEO Hitting is a strong fit for players who want to understand their swing and take responsibility for their development. Players looking primarily for drills or quick fixes may be better served elsewhere.
How do I get started?
Most players begin with an evaluation to identify what is actually limiting performance. From there, options may include private lessons, ongoing development support, or advanced consulting depending on needs and goals.
