Hank Bard | Hitting & Catching Coach
Hank Bard is a hitting and catching coach working alongside CEO Hitting while also serving as the catching coach at McLennan Community College. His approach blends firsthand competitive experience with principle-based development built to hold up at game speed.
Hank brings a player’s perspective to his coaching — grounded in recent, high-level competition and daily work with athletes navigating the demands of modern baseball.
Playing Background
Hank played collegiately at McLennan Community College, where he was part of the 2021 NJCAA National Championship team. He later transferred to Texas A&M University, competing in the SEC and finishing his career with a run to the 2024 College World Series, where Texas A&M fell to Tennessee in the national championship series.
That path gives Hank a unique understanding of development across levels — from junior college to Power Five baseball to Omaha — and the adjustments required at each stage.
Coaching Role
Hank currently serves as an assistant coach at McLennan Community College, where he works closely with hitters and catchers. His focus is on helping players simplify decision-making, maintain adjustability, and compete freely under pressure.
In addition to his work at McLennan, Hank provides private hitting and catching instruction in Waco, Texas, working with players who want their skills to translate beyond training environments and into real competition.
Work with CEO Hitting
Hank works alongside Mike Bard at CEO Hitting, applying the same core principles around adjustability, sequencing, and decision-making — while bringing a current player’s lens to how those principles show up in today’s game.
His role bridges philosophy and execution. Hank helps translate concepts into feels that resonate with younger players while reinforcing the long-term development framework that defines CEO Hitting.
Coaching Philosophy
Hank believes the game rewards clarity, not carefulness. His coaching emphasizes understanding why movements work, protecting options as long as possible, and trusting preparation when the game speeds up.
Whether working with hitters or catchers, the goal is the same: help players own their development, make better decisions under pressure, and compete with conviction.
